A Film Festival
returns with
a renewed mission
Founded in 2005, the Estes Park Film Festival was a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission was to educate, inspire, and advance a greater appreciation of independent film.
After temporarily pausing the film festival in 2012, we have returned as the
Estes Park Film Society.
First filmmaker meetup set for Nov. 12
The Estes Park Film Society will host its inaugural Estes Park Filmmaker Meetup on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Channel studio, 142 E. Elkhorn Ave., in downtown Estes Park.
The free-form, open-house gathering will welcome filmmakers and community members interested in connecting with the local film industry. Avant Garde Brewery will provide a bar.
Organizers plan to hold similar meetups every other month at locations around town. Future programming will include filmmaker labs, professional development opportunities, a 48-hour film challenge, and an annual environmental film festival in April.
“We have a couple of purposes for forming the film society,” Co-director Claire Mollé said. “One is to ensure Estes Park has a prominent presence in this new landscape of film in Colorado. The other is to create a space where independent filmmakers can support and empower one another in an industry that often feels like a constant battle to get your art seen and recognized.”
